i just wanna share with you guys a video i had come to know during my 1 year of formation in seminary. its about a father’s love for his son that became the driving force to what you will see in the video. why this video is so significant to me is because it kinda show to what extend God would also show his love for us people here ( i mean you and me, here, living on this planet). yeah. so hope all you guys reading this can also reflect while watching. enjoy!
its two more days left till the holidays and we can still manage to do some weeding around the paddy we planted on the hill of the seminary. yes we actually planted hill paddy in our compound right in the middle of the city! cool leh!
playing around with the sickle
stanley weeding away
me bertembiranging
view from the paddy hill.we can actually see the karamunsing flyover
some of our neighbours thought we were growing lalang and everytime we went weeding this old lady from the house at the bottom of the hill would stare at us. today though her husband i think asked us if we were growing paddy. since the paddy has grown so tall its difficult to avoid coming in contact with its grass-like leaves. by the time i finished weeding my hands and neck were red and itchy like hell.
anyways one of my friend told us this lame old timers story about the reason why grass grows with paddy. seemed that the paddy were envious of the grass growing everywhere and anywhere where else it could only grown in specific places. so one day the paddy asked the grass to come and live with them on the pretence of keeping them company but out of jealousy wanted to take revenge. the grass agreed and ever since people had to weed them out. blame it on the paddy i guess? haha!
the seminary is having some major repairworks and is in a real mess, and its just 3 more days till the holidays! and the smell! adui gila the smell is so unbearable! cement+paint+damp dust+broken concrete+welded metal+smelly stinky construction workers. punyalah! and they power spray the walls to remove the old paint. ok i don’t mind them spraying away but im so annoyed that the water entered my room. and its THICK DARK BLACK DIRTY WATER from dust accumulated over the decades! yes decades. eyeeerr! punyalah menjijikan. and this people know very well the windows are louvers but they still spray against it. luckely the glass didn’t break. HUMP!
anyways im packing my stuff now and the room is also messy. i wonder if i should leave it messy like the rest of the house. i think i should at least mop the floor and wipe the shelves and put new plastic in the drawers and cupboards and clean the fans or else the person moving in next year will be wondering about the awful smell in the room. hack i think i better just clean the room till sparkling clean! nanti i’ll be having a lousy holiday just thinking about the dirty room…
last wednesday the seminary (initiation year) had it’s closing mass for the academic year 2008 and for the first time in history we were lucky to witness this:
The call
Rayner and Isidore
yep, the Rite of Acceptance to the Diaconate. it was a really a surprise for us because we’ve never seen one of these been done during mass more so as it coincides with our closing mass. anyways the mass was on the feast of St. Francis Xavier which fall every year on the 3rd of december. Archbishop Lee took the opportunity to preach a little about St. Francis’ life and how we could take him as an example of a good priest. i think it was very meaning ful for both Rayner and Isidore more so since they were going to be ordained.which leads us to this:
during the homily
Rayner and Isidore Prostrating
Laying of hands
Left and right
Day of Ordination. was held in sacred heart cathedral on saturday, 6th of december. the mass was in english and bahasa. so after waiting so so long they are finally welcomed into the clerical community. they are also officially PBSM (Persatuan Bujang Sampai Mati, or in english ‘the associations of batchelors till death’). well, hopefully their ordination will help me in my own personal journey. still a long way to go there joshua!
2 weeks ago i was looking through facebook and found this picture which was uploaded by my old school mate leona. the picture was me, dancing.
dancing to the thong song
i don’t recall when this was taken but i remember it was her class’ end of the year party and i went in just to be a nuisance. anyway the songs is still ringing in my head. it was sisqo’s thong song. remember the movie nutty professor II: the klums?
remember this movie?
yeh that one. i really hated that movie but later on liked it just cause the song was in its soundtrack. i actually love that song right up till now.
come to think bout it, i didn’t feel a single bit of embarrassment at that time. now looking back at me dancing in that picture and remembering what happen, i feel like an utter idiot. i mean i can’t imagine how i even had the guts to go out there and dance. ok i love that song but come on the song celebrates women who wear thongs and bikinis!? WT*?? one of the comments in facebook was from my other schoolmate, linda who was also there to witness me humiliate myself: ‘what got into you, i will nevr know, there wasn’t even alcohol there!!’. see, she also sounds embarrass.
it’s true that there wasn’t even alcohol during the party. no wait! I DON’T EVEN DRINK ALCOHOLIC DRINKS! must have been me releasing the remnants of my stress from the prm examination. or maybe i was drunk from consuming way too much chicken wings. i don’t know. can’t remember anyway. well, those were the days i guess…
today i’m going back to the seminary to start the third and last term for this year. hopefully i’ll go through it without complaining to much. it’ll be the shortest and probably the most interesting of all three terms cause there will be the vocation retreat in october up in the mountains and there’ll be the missionary exploration visit (MEV) again with more exciting places to visit. plus i’ll be meeting my bishop at the end of the term and who knows, i’ll be promoted to the’major seminary’ in kuching.
anyway i had a fun 10 days holiday and i did manage to go meet some friends yang i jarang meet like jasmine and andy and the gang. and i finally FINALLY manage to get my 8 year old computer (the one im using now) at home reformatted which is a relieave cause it actually took 15 mins to startup. oh and i really miss my guitar back home so coming back home to my guitar was like coming a man coming home to his wife..er??
the only thing i didn’t quite like was this new apartment the my mum just moved into. i mean its all great and cosy and all but i have been like living on a landed property my entire lifelah… this place kan i can hardly breath!!! no garden, no place to run around, no trees just outside the door… adui it feels like some pigeon hole lah dis.. and the apartment is sooo damn small not to mention cramp lagi tu.. anyways i should be grateful lah cus atleast got a place over my head kan.. but i seriously can’t wait to go back to the seminary… at least there is grounds to run around:P
